Those people familiar with the original Harmonic Perculator will know it as a re-imagineered version of the rare and much sought after Interfax unit of the 1970's.
The Utility Perculator brings the circuit right up to date with an improved noise floor and tighter control over frequancy range with an increased gain structure.
If you want a true to the original pedal then the Harmonic is the one for you, if you want a more modern version with less operational noise then the Utility is your best bet...
The Utility Perkolator is our latest version of the fabled Interfax Harmonic Percolator from the 1970s. The Harmonic Percolator is a simple yet fascinating circuit which readily lends itself to tweaking and improvement. We already build a faithfully vintage correct version of the Harmonic Percolator, however the Utility Perkolator takes this circuit in another direction. Using higher gain, lower leakage Russian Germanium transistors, and a low pass filter which only removes the high-end hisses and glitches associated with the HP, the Utility Perkolator has a considerably lower noise floor. The result is a tighter and more controllable effect which is still capable of producing the classic Harmonic Percolator sound.
We believe this is the best sounding Harmonic Percolator you can buy. The MkII Utility Perkolator features a two colour screen print in silver metallic and black.
